This work features controlled fluidity of applied colors with loaded pigments that move down, painted under gravity. This style set captures spontaneity of translucent, wet oils in motion on specific papers. Some of the glazed shapes represent figures dancing inside their spaces in which the type of paper used, performs some of the work:

A note about Fabriano® Italian papers. The artist has been using this brand of paper in his work since 1990. He writes, "Rosaspina Fabriano [paper] lets me experience the intersection of Renaissance heritage and contemporary vision with original new ideas. Meticulously rendered on fine archival paper that was first made in 1264 in Amalfi-Fabriano, Italy, each sheet is handmade with cotton and has been for over seven centuries. It is noted for its archival strength and distinctive texture to help the artist achieve remarkable, fluidic results. The hot-press paper-grade offers the right smooth, absorbent texture for fine details and the tinted varnishes I use. The paper itself in these works is literally half of the artistic process."
